Do you have a ‘minimum hours’ requirement?

I have no minimum requirements if you wish to pay by the hour. If you choose to hire me on a retainer (to ensure that I have the hours set aside for you each month) then the minimum is 3 hours per month.

What are your working hours?

I work Monday to Thursday, 09:00 to 17:00 with half an hour’s lunch break, meaning I have 7.5 hours available per day. Correspondence and/or phone calls from clients should be kept within these hours but you will not be billed for phone calls of under 10 mins. Obviously if I am working for another client at the time of your call you will need to leave me a voicemail or email me and I will get back to you ASAP.

What paperwork is involved in the hiring process?

Once we have decided on the way we would like to work together, I will send you a Freelancer Contract as well as a Data Processing Agreement to sign via the online service ‘HelloSign’ meaning no paperwork has to be posted. If you would like me to sign a contract of your own or an NDA I will sign that for you in whichever way you wish.

What happens during the consultation process?

I would love to meet with you if that’s possible but if that’s not convenient I’d like to either Skype, Facetime or at the very least have a phone call with you. Obviously, time spent during the consultation process is not billable! I just like to meet with my clients in a relaxed atmosphere to get to know each other as people, learn about your business and what’s important to you in a VA. Once we have had that initial chat, I’m happy to communicate in whichever way you prefer to discuss the finer details.

How do you keep in touch with clients?

This is entirely up to you- some clients message back and forth (via WhatsApp which is encrypted so there are no GDPR issues), others I email and some I call. I use simple shared note systems such as Evernote or Trello to create to-do lists that we can both see and update, and I always like to send a ’round up email’ at the end of each session to provide a Toggl report of how my time was spent. My clients can be as involved as they like and I can reduce my emails to a monthly update if that’s preferred.
